WORDS BY Devaraj (Farquhar) Macdougall & IMAGES BY ZOEY BLACKMORE
Silence surrounds me.
Rain hits off the roof bouncing.
Pit-a-pattering.
Underwater bliss.
Weightlessly manoeuvring.
Alone; with my thoughts.
Leaves dress the trees.
Coating them in depth and grace.
Rustle in the breeze.
Antenna scanning
Feeling for something to eat.
Crunch. Dinner is served.
Forget the facade.
Reality is alive.
Surrender and flow.
Rain hammering down.
Plants relax and absorb,
Drowning in goodness.
Ecstasy is nigh.
Euphoria floods through me.
Burst out of my mind.
Everyday flowing.
Breaking the concept of time.
I am eternal.
Sadness comes sometimes.
Happiness, after; stronger.
Emotions are life.
Exploding with thought.
Jumping around the void.
Hoping to be caught.
Water races down.
Creating a path in rock.
Thundering. Changing.
Eternal flowing.
Roaring into the unknown.
Following new paths.
Stillness forms a storm.
Darkness illuminates mind.
Silence reveals peace.
Survival is key.
Natures drive is to survive.
Consciousness is key.
Our body, the leaf.
Mind, the intertwining twigs.
Roots- connecting us.
Words are made of sounds,
An array of mixed noises.
Uniting people.
It will come to me,
But I need to go to it,
Manifestation.
I hear words whisper,
Sounds and syllables combined,
Energy expressed.
A fairy beacon,
Gleaming in all its beauty,
Attracting new mates.
A mass of jelly,
Clinging to a skeleton,
Crystalline beings.
With nerves running like tree routes.
We interact with nature.
United as one,
Mirroring reality,
Witnessing this life.
Extracting shared energy,
Through recycled resources.
Darkness reveals light,
The glimmering stars shine bright,
Lighting up the night.
Looking into history,
Time travelling in the night.
Evoking magic,
An intergalactic show,
Of ancient wonder.
In the expansive abyss,
Life continues evolving.
Casting beside us
Connected from birth to death
Our shadow lingers
The tree bows humbly.
Two beings on different paths.
Witnessing each-other.
Flying weightlessly.
Manoeuvring with utter grace.
In the vast labyrinth.
Sweeping fallen leaves,
A shower of leaves glide down,
Replacing the old.
Iridescent skin
Shimmering glossy green
The modest tree frog.
Nectar fills the air.
The scent of freshly cut grass,
Makes my nose run stream.
The choices we make,
Ripple across all life forms,
Imprinting itself.
