Outside (in B&W)
Holly Blackmore
From the top, the water is an almost transparent turquoise. It looks smooth and flat and safe. Running from rock to rock. One of my nipples is hard, the other is soft. Look back towards the mountain - where we came from. Stand sticking to the soles of his shoes ahead of me. Thinking ahead — bathers on underneath fleece layers. We watch a dog chase its ball into the shallows. The water is much colder here. Cleansing my scalp and skin. Out of the water & I am a new woman.
