Point, Shoot, Hope For The Best

My best friend Kristy got me in to film a couple years back. She showed me her shots and I fell in love; the colours were so different to digital and the subtle graininess was so nice. Is graininess a word? I’m going with it. Though, my main thought was ‘Wow it looks like you used VSCO but you didn’t’ *eye roll emoji.

After a couple dud op shop finds and a few heart-breaking blank rolls, I found my first film camera in Japan. It was a Minolta Af-S Quartz, I purchased it at a market in Kyoto, for 500 Yen ($6). After that, the addiction got real, I got so desperate to finish a roll. Kristy and I would drop off our rolls for developing and head straight home to refresh our email… tbh we still do. It’s such a rush seeing the photos for the first time.

So, that’s my story, I don’t have much of style and I don’t know anything about photography. I now use a Canon Eos 1000f, I point and shoot and hope for the best. Here are some of ‘the best’.
