Artist Profile; Memphis Matysek
My name’s Memph Matysek, and I’m an artist involved in the art scene around Wollongong. I’m an underground artist however I love art of any form.
I believe that art is deeply spiritual and enlightening in nature. I find myself often exploring concepts such as the relationship between the materialistic world and the spiritual, working from my experiences and knowledge that I have gathered so far from my own individual journey. The theme of duality always features in my work in some shape or form, whether intentional or unintentional.
I find it interesting in the different paths I’ve seen different artists take and the many different journeys, it’s definitely something that keeps me going yet keeps me up at night as well.
