Words Out
An exclusive WARRANT interview with Archer, following the release of her new track ‘Words Out’.
How has 2019 kicked off for Archer?
2019 has started off with a bang. I guess I started the New Year at Falls Festival and it really got me thinking about where I wanted to be in say a year. So I got back home from Lorne, got in contact with my producer and pretty much hit the studio a week later.
Today is the day that your new single ‘Words Out’ is released. What has inspired this track?
I guess ‘Words Out’ is about a lot of different things. It started out being about telling someone how you feel about them and being truly honest. I guess it was originally about saying ‘I Love You’ and how it’s sort of a thing that is unconditional, like you can’t say it and then take it back. But after a while the song became about being honest about things and never leaving things unsaid because you never know what could have happened if you would have just said the things on your mind.
Are you excited for your upcoming gig?
I’m very excited for my upcoming gig. Mostly nervous though. Probably because I’m playing a lot of new music so it’ll be the first time a lot of people have heard it so I’m nervous to see how everyone responds. But I guess it’s a learning curb. It’ll only get better from here.
What’s on the horizon?
New music hopefully. I say hopefully but I know full well there will be new music. An EP by June potentially. More gigs? I’m not sure. Guess I’ll just take everything as it comes.
