Interview; George Woolston
Yo I’m George, I’m 15 from Hamilton and have been releasing music since 2018.
What influenced you in starting to releasing music?
I’ve always been playing and writing songs but one of my best mates George Barney Roberts helped heaps getting my first songs out and with producing and recording overall I’m hugely thankful for that, make sure u go check his stuff out on spotify etc.
Favourite song to play live?
I got a few unreleased songs which are sick to play live, but out of the three that are out, it would be ‘someone your not’.
What’s coming up for George Woolston?
I’m looking to drop a bigger project early this year an EP or maybe an album with a few new songs I’ve been working on and maybe a remake of ‘stopwastingtime’. I’m pretty hyped to get those out soon, I’m also hoping to set up a few live shows after I’ve dropped a few more songs.
Any other things you been working/featured on?
Me and two others have been dropping stuff under the name buzzcutteers it’s a bit different with some auto tune and effects if that’s your kinda buzz, I’ve also got a feature on ‘George Barney Roberts’ ‘hard feelings’ EP!
Any other similar artists you look up to?
‘King Krule’ and ‘Sticky Fingers’ are my biggest influences in my music, A few other sick NZ artists to look out for are ‘Tom Verberne’ ‘stupid rich kid’ and ‘Billy La Signy’ whose dropping his first song ‘stay warm’ 20th of January and of course ‘George Barney Roberts’ xx
